Hong Kong Textile Council is the umbrella organization comprising of thirteen major textile and garment associations, whose business activities range from spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing and finishing, garment making and the manufacture of textile goods. The Council acts as the voice for the industry and works closely with various governments and authorities.
Stanley was elected as Chairman of the Council for a two-year term starting in September 2015, and he was subsequently re-elected to another two-year term. Past chairmen include Dr. Sui Kau Chan (GBM, GBS, SBS, JP, Chairman of the YGM Group), Dr. Harry Lee (SBS, JP, Chairman of TAL), and the Honourable Andrew Leung (GBS, JP, the Hong Kong Legislative Council member representing the Industrial constituency).
